[admin post] Admin Post: November Challenge

Thank you for your engagement with this community during the past month!

Here is the tolkienshortfanworks challenge for November.

Thematic prompt:

Your piece should mention both a sibling relationship and a food item.

I'm having my eye on two upcoming Tumblr weeks here; if you like you can have a look at their prompt lists for inspiration, which are very nicely done, even if perhaps you might not be interested in Tumblr events as such:
https://www.tumblr.com/tolkien-food-week/796398861745815552/tolkien-food-week-list-of-prompts
https://www.tumblr.com/tolkiensiblingsweek/798504799422365696/less-than-one-month-to-go-until-the-very-first

Formal challenge:

Keeping it simple this month with traditional drabbles: 100 words or multiples of 100.

As usual, these two prompt sets can be filled separately or combined.

Usual reminder that in order to post the fill to this community or to the related collection on AO3 (linked in a sticky post at the top), the fanwork can only have a word count up to 1000 words and must be linked to a Tolkien fandom.
Rec lists and podfics can be posted as fills for thematic prompts, as long as the fanworks concerned meet those conditions.

Also we continue to welcome other pieces unrelated to any challenge, of course, including cross-posts and older stories, as long as they meet the criteria!

Upcoming challenge

Folks, we’re looking for input on the next challenge. Hit us with your favorite baked goods! If you want to share a recipe or a photo, all well and good, but just a name or a link works too. It can be as simple as ‘this is the thing everyone in my neck of the woods looks for at the bakery/market/holidays/family gatherings’. Sweet or savo(u)ry is up to you. (Though the list of sweet is currently much longer than the savory list, and we’d like to even it out if possible!) Our one request is you tell us by November 10 so we have enough time to put the challenge together.

Comment screening is on for this post!
